Petroleum
Field development and production planning across the life of an oil and gas asset.
Field development and production planning across the life of an oil and gas asset.
What we deliver
We support oil and gas assets from first appraisal to late life. Our petroleum engineers turn reservoir, well and facility data into development plans that operators and partners can approve and fund.
At the concept stage, we compare development options side by side: the number and type of wells, the production profile, the facilities needed to handle it and the cost of each option. Every option is tested against price and recovery sensitivities, so the decision holds up when conditions change.
Once an asset is producing, we stay with it. We track well performance, plan interventions and workovers, and look for the changes that add barrels or cut operating cost without adding risk to people or equipment.
Every study ends in clear technical reporting: assumptions, options, costs and a recommendation, written for engineers and management alike. Where partners or regulators need to approve a plan, we prepare the supporting documents and join the review meetings.
Who does the work
Petroleum engineers lead the work, supported by our reservoir, drilling and production specialists. On larger studies we add process and HSE engineers so the plan holds up from the reservoir to the export line.
Where we work
- Onshore oil and gas fields
- Offshore platforms and subsea developments
- Gas and condensate fields
- Mature and late-life assets
- New field appraisals
How we deliver it
Data review
We collect and check the reservoir, well, production and facility data, and agree the questions the study must answer.
Option screening
We build a long list of development or optimisation options and screen out those that are not technically or commercially viable.
Detailed evaluation
The shortlisted options are modelled in detail: production profiles, well counts, facility needs, cost and schedule.
Recommendation
We present a preferred option with its risks, sensitivities and the decisions still needed, and support approval by partners and authorities.
Execution support
Our engineers stay involved through drilling and production, updating forecasts and plans as real data comes in.
Roles on the team
Lead petroleum engineer
Owns the study or support scope, coordinates the specialists and signs off the technical work.
Production technologist
Analyses well and facility performance and identifies optimisation opportunities.
Petroleum economist
Builds the cost and value models used to compare options and test sensitivities.
Supporting specialists
Reservoir, drilling and process engineers who contribute to each option where their discipline applies.

Frequently asked questions
Can you work alongside our in-house team?
Yes. We can lead a study or provide engineers who work inside your team, using your tools and procedures.
Do you only work on new fields?
No. Much of our work is on producing and mature assets, where small improvements in production or cost have a big effect.
Can you support approval by partners and regulators?
Yes. We prepare the technical documents and join the review meetings to answer questions on the work.
